OCCOQUAN, VA — Live music, plenty of food, kids activities and, of course, a wide variety of arts and crafts will be in full force this weekend in downtown Occoquan. It's the 50th annual Occoquan Spring Arts and Craft show, set for 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 1, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine.

Admission is free but on-site parking will be scarce. Patrons probably should use several off-site lots with shuttle bus service. This event has become a must-attend fixture for many Northern Virginia residents, and the waterfront gives it a special glow. There's also a sister event in the fall.

This weekend's event will be the last of its kind, as the town recently announced that next spring's gala will be called RiverFest 2020, a one-day deal with new activities.
