Officer Struck By Driver Amid Stolen License Plate Investigation In Woodbridge
Prince William County Police are seeking a driver after a driver struck a police officer with a vehicle in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A police officer in Woodbridge was struck by a driver whose vehicle had a stolen license plate Monday, according to Prince William County Police.
Around 3:37 p.m. Monday, officers were attempting to stop a vehicle for a stolen license plate in the 14500 block of Richmond Highway in Woodbridge. When officers approached the vehicle, the driver reversed, struck another vehicle and struck an officer who was standing nearby. The officer jumped onto the trunk to avoid further injury as the driver fled.
The vehicle continued north on Richmond Highway into Fairfax County, where officers lost sight of it.

The struck officer had minor injuries from the crash, and no other injuries were reported.
The driver was described a Black man in his late teens to early 20s with dreadlocks and wearing gray sweatpants and a black hooded sweatshirt. According to police, the vehicle was a black Infiniti sedan with stolen Virginia license plate TAJ-1792.
