Parents Charged After Toddler Found Dead At Northern Virginia Hotel
Authorities were called to the Red Roof Inn in Dumfries last month, where they found the toddler's body, police said.

DUMFRIES, VA — The parents of a 2-year-old girl who died last month from a fentanyl overdose were arrested this week and charged in connection with her death, Prince William County police said.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on April 16, police were called to the Red Roof Inn in Dumfries, where they found the toddler's body in one of the hotel's rooms.
According to police, the child was in the care of her parents, 28-year-old William Nathaniel Fuller and 25-year-old Markita Ayanna Williams. A second child under 6 years old was also in the room at the time of the girl's death, as well as an unsecured gun, police said.

A preliminary investigation found there were no signs of trauma on the girl's body, police said. She was taken to the office of the medical examiner, who later found that the girl "had fentanyl in her heart blood," police said.
During the investigation, police said they learned the child's father had removed items from the hotel room as her mother called emergency services. Police did not provide additional details about the items.

Following a joint investigation with Child Protective Services and a consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, authorities obtained arrest warrants for the girl’s parents, who were arrested Thursday in the Dumfries area.
Following his arrest, Fuller was charged with felony murder, felony child neglect, and several weapon and drug charges.
Williams was charged with felony murder, felony child neglect and drug possession.
Both Fuller and Williams are being held without bond.
