Police: Man Stabs Stepfather to Death in Woodbridge Home
Brian Hernandez was arrested after using a knife from the victim's home to commit the crime Jan. 14, PWCPD report.

A Woodbridge man has been charged in the stabbing death of his stepfather Wednesday night, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
Brian Hernandez, 29, has been charged with murder. The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Mauro Rodriguez.
Officers responded to the 5600 block of Northton Court at 10:54 p.m. Jan. 14.

According to witnesses, Rodriguez was sitting in his living room when his stepson, Hernandez, entered the house, PWCPD reports. Hernandez allegedly went to kitchen, got a knife, and began pacing.
According to police the suspect’s mother tried to get him to drop the knife but Hernandez walked around her and into the living room. Then he began to stab Rodriguez multiple times, police report.

The mother immediately called the police and the victim’s brother tried to stop the attack, according to PWCPD. When police arrived on the scene Hernandez and the victim’s brother were physically fighting.

Hernandez was detained and Rodriguez was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries. This is the second murder in Prince William County of 2015.
Hernandez is being held without bond. A court date has not been set yet.
