Sonic Seeks To Open Northern Virginia's First I-95 Corridor Location

DUMFRIES, VA — Sonic Drive-In could become a pit stop for drivers along the Interstate 95 corridor, according to plans filed with Prince William County.

A special use permit is being sought for a drive-thru Sonic at Barracks Row at Quantico, 4115 Talon Drive in Dumfries, Washington Business Journal first reported. This would be the second Prince William County location and third location, as there are locations already in Manassas and Leesburg.

A county special use permit report indicates the drive-thru restaurant is a compatible use in the Barracks Row at Quantico area envisioned to have mixed-use development. County staff say the project will provide pedestrian facilities connecting to adjacent developments. An outdoor seating area and 16 drive-in signs for ordering are proposed.

Washington Business Journal reported the plan is to begin construction by late summer.
