Truck Driver Killed When Tractor-Trailer Veers Off I-95
The driver of a tractor-trailer rig died when his vehicle veered off Interstate 95 near Woodbridge and crashed, state police said.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — The driver of a tractor-trailer rig died when his vehicle veered off Interstate 95 near Woodbridge and crashed, Virginia State Police said. The name of the driver has not been released.
The fatal crash occurred Thursday morning at 4:23 a.m. on Interstate 95 northbound at the 155-mile marker, the VSP said in a news release.
State troopers were initially called to a report of a pedestrian who had been stuck on the interstate, but troopers didn't find anyone in the roadway. A report that a tractor-trailer that had overturned nearby led officers to the body of the truck driver.

Investigators said the tractor-trailer went onto the left shoulder of Interstate 95 northbound, then swerved backed onto the roadway, and the driver was thrown from the truck. The tractor-trailer continued northbound, went into a ditch and overturned.
The identification of the driver will be released once next of kin have been notified.
