Assault, Theft in Shoe Sale Gone Bad

Prince William County Police said the 27-year-old victim had made arrangements online to sell the shoes.

Prince William County Police are searching for two men who stole a pair of shoes from a Woodbridge man after setting up a deal online to buy them.

Police responded on Tuesday at 7:52 a.m. to the report of the robbery, which took place on Lodge Trail and Old Kings Road in Woodbridge the night before, around 10:30 p.m.

The 27-year-old male victim said that he had made arrangements to sell the shoes via social media to an acquaintance, and brought a friend to the meeting spot. The acquaintance arrived with an unknown man, and an altercation ensued. The men stole a backpack, an undisclosed amount of cash, two cell phones and a pair of shoes before fleeing, said police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok.

Minor injuries were reported. 

The acquaintance is described as between 30-40 years old, black, 6’3”, 190lbs, thin build with short black hair, brown eyes and a goatee. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

The unknown man was between 30-35 years of age, black, 6’2”, 210lbs, heavy build with a bald head, brown eyes and a goatee. He was wearing a white t-short and sweatpants.
