Celebrate National Marina Day at the Port of Edmonds Saturday

National Marina Day, which was launched 12 years ago to promote the marina industry and its role in boating, has now merged with the efforts of Discover Boating to promote the entire marine industry and the boating lifestyle in one nationwide event set for Saturday, June 8, 2013.

The event takes place locally at the Port of Edmonds with a focus on preparing for safe and environmentally clean boating this season. Learn a new boating skill, find the best non-copper bottom paint for your boat, learn to splice a line or tie a knot.

The event takes place at the marina's Public Plaza near the guest moorage area from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8. Various groups, vendors and service providers will convey new, innovative, and environmentally sound information. In addition, jazz music will be performed as part of the summer series of Sea Jazz, which features mainly award-winning jazz musicians from local high schools.
