Edmonds Man Involved in 2 DUI Collisions Wednesday Evening, Police Say

A 40-year-old male Edmonds resident was involved in two alcohol and/or drug related collisions Wednesday evening, police say.

At about 6:50 p.m., June 5, Edmonds Police units were dispatched to a two car collision in the area of 210th St SW and 74th Ave W. Before police arrived, the driver causing the collision fled the scene, driving his car north from the area.

One of the officers sent to the scene was the night Edmonds PD traffic officer. He recognized the description of the vehicle as belonging to someone he had contact with before.

As the officers continued their investigation at the scene, witnesses to a recklessly driven vehicle at 198th St SW and 80th Ave W called 911. That vehicle drove through a yard and then rolled. The driver was transported to Harborview Medical Center with undetermined injuries.

No one else was injured in either of the collisions other than the driver. Alcohol or drugs are believed to be factor. The investigation is continuing with multiple charges expected.
