Everett Homeowner Shoots, Kills Seattle Man: Sheriff

A 47-year-old Everett man reportedly shot and killed a 21-year-old who was at his home Monday night.

EVERETT, WA - A 21-year-old Seattle man was shot and killed inside a home in the Silver Lake area Monday night, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. No arrests have been made at this time.

SCSO spokeswoman Courtney O’Keefe said deputies were dispatched to a home in the 10600-block of 32nd Drive Southeast around 10:45 p.m. Feb. 25. At the scene, investigators found the victim with a gunshot wound to his chest; he reportedly died after first responders arrived.

Four other people were at the home when the shooting occurred, O’Keefe said, identifying the shooter as the 47-year-old homeowner.

Moments before the shooting, the homeowner and victim were reportedly involved in some kind of altercation, though police did not provide details. The three witnesses and shooter remained at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the investigation, which is ongoing, O’Keefe said.

The victim will be identified and his official cause of death will be revealed by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner following family notification and an autopsy.
