Help ID Man Found In Yost Park Last Year: Edmonds PD

Edmonds police last week shared a sketch of the man who was found dead in Yost Park, hoping someone from the community will identify him.

EDMONDS, WA - Edmonds police investigators last week tweeted a reconstructive sketch of the man who was reportedly found dead in Yost Park in 2018, renewing hope that someone from the community may recognize and finally help identify him.

The unidentified man had been dead for some time — between two and four weeks — prior to being found by a couple who were walking through the park on Nov. 10, according to Edmonds police spokesman Shane Hawley.

Hawley said the Snohomish County Medical Examiner determined the man's death was suicide caused by strangulation.

Intevestigators further determined the man had been living at a campsite in Yost Park near where his body was found, Hawley said, noting the campsite contained personal items — clothing and a bicycle — that belonged to the man, but nothing that could help identify him.

Recently, a resident contacted police to share images they'd captured on their home surveillance system showing the man pushing his bike past their house on Sept. 30, 2018.

The surveillance images showed the man was white and somewhere between 40 and 60 years old.

Anyone who recognizes the man is encouraged to call Edmonds investigators at 425-771-0200.
