EVERETT, WA - Police are asking the community to help locate and/or identify the owner(s) of an early 2000s model SUV that is suspected of being used in a fatal hit and run incident along Evergreen Way in Everett two weeks ago.

The incident reportedly occurred just before 9:30 p.m. March 11 while the adult male victim was walking east across Evergreen Way in the crosswalk at Airport Road. As he crossed the street, the man was struck by a tan Chevy Suburban or GMC Yukon XL, built sometime between 2000 and 2006, police said.

After the vehicle hit the man, the driver reportedly backed up and pulled around the injured pedestrian before continuing north, away from the scene of the collision.

The victim was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries, police said.

Damage to the suspect vehicle "should be obvious, but not substantial," police said in a statement.
