Lakewood Van Fire: 1 Killed, 2 More Injured
A witness saw the van burning and broke a window before pulling the survivors to safety, according to firefighters.

LAKEWOOD, WA — One man has died, and two other people are seriously injured after a vehicle fire early Monday morning in Lakewood.
According to West Pierce Fire & Rescue, a van caught fire near the intersection of 92nd and S Tacoma Way sometime shortly after 4 a.m.
Before crews could even arrive, firefighters say a witness had seen the vehicle burning and rushed to help, breaking one of the van's windows and pulling two of the people inside to safety before it got too hot. Those two victims, a man and a woman, have since been transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The third victim, a man, was pronounced dead shortly after medics arrived on scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
