Among those arrested were several Pierce County residents, including three service members assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
THURSTON COUNTY, WA - A multi-day, multi-agency operation that ended Wednesday resulted in the arrests of 22 individuals who are considered dangerous sexual predators who target children, according to Washington State Patrol.
The 15th such operation led by WSP's Missing and Exploited Children Task Force, Operation Net Nanny since August 2015 has seen 246 people arrested and more than 30 kids rescued across the state.
The task force's mission, WSP officials said, "is to proactively target those persons involved in child abuse and child exploitation via the internet."

"While the internet is a powerful tool for our nation, criminals using it to target our communities necessitates a need for this type of proactive investigations by our law enforcement troopers and partners in order to combat these horrible crimes," WSP Chief John R. Batiste said in a statement released Thursday. "This operation is aimed at protecting our vulnerable children and making communities safer."
The latest Operation Net Nanny took place between Feb. 15 and 20. Bolstered by resources and personnel from 14 different law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, more than 70 undercover officers, federal agents, and staff used websites and phone apps to communicate with people who expressed a desire to have sex with children.
