Firefighters Rescue Terrier From Burning House Tuesday Night
Central Pierce Fire & Rescue crews quickly rescued the homeowner's pet dog before extinguishing a blaze in Parkland late Tuesday.

PARKLAND, WA - A terrier from the Parkland area is still alive Wednesday morning thanks to the quick actions of Central Pierce firefighters, who successfully rescued the dog from a burning house late Tuesday.
According to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, the homeowner arrived to find his house already burning around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 5. Hearing the smoke alarm from outside, the homeowner went to the front door but was turned away by heavy smoke pouring from the house.
Pierce County fire crews arrived minutes later and quickly breached the home, rescuing the terrier and extinguishing the fire, officials said.

The terrier received first aid and is said to be doing fine. The homeowner sustained no injuries.
No word on a cause or damage estimate at this time.
