Hit-And-Run Driver Crashes Into Lakewood Restaurant

Police are searching for a driver after finding an abandoned car lodged in the wall of the building.

LAKEWOOD, WA — The Lakewood Police Department is investigating what they call a "a single vehicle hit-and-run collision" after someone plowed their car into the side of a building early Monday morning.

According to officers, sometime before 3:45 a.m. a driver slammed their vehicle into the side of the Sizzler Restaurant at 10204 S Tacoma Way.

But when officers arrived, they found the vehicle still embedded in the wall of the building— with no driver to be found. Witnesses reportedly saw multiple people get out of the car and flee the scene following the crash.

No suspect description has been released, but officers say they will continue to investigate.
