Intersection Work Will Cause Delays In Parkland This Weekend
Puget Sound Energy will install a new gas line at the intersection of 152nd Street and 22nd Avenue east in Parkland this weekend.

PARKLAND, WA - The installation of a new gas line will cause delays at the intersection of 152nd Street and 22nd Avenue east in Parkland this weekend between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
Puget Sound Energy is contracted to perform the work, according to Pierce County officials.
The new gas line is part of a larger improvement project at the intersection that also includes the installation of a traffic signal and new street lights, turning lanes, curbs and gutters, and sidewalks and ADA-compliant curb ramps.

The improvement project began in August 2018 and is slated for completion in early July 2019.
Last month, crews rebuilt about 600 feet of 22nd Avenue East from the intersection by excavating the road roughly 7 feet down before rebuilding, widening, and completely repaving the roadway.

Additionally, utility crews have relocated power lines to accommodate the changes.
The total project costs approximately $2.345 million.
