JBLM Units To Train With Artillery For 2 Weeks

Residents around Joint Base Lewis-McChord are advised of increased noise and activity between April 6 and 18 while four JBLM units train.

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WA - Artillery and mortar training at Joint Base Lewis-McChord will begin this weekend and continue for the next two weeks, according to military officials. The scheduled training extends the regularly-announced exercise 10 more days than is usual.

Despite the extended training period, however, four JBLM units will participate in what is an otherwise typical training involving 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm Howitzer artillery and various demolitions.

The training will take place during both day and night hours, beginning at 8 a.m. April 6 and ending around 11:59 p.m. April 18, officials said.
