Authorities have reportedly identified three people who died when their small plane crashed Friday in Alaska, and one of them is from Steilacoom.
The Associated Press is reporting that Dale Hemman, 61, was flying the plane when it went down, killing him and two other people from South Carolina.
Hemman owned Let's Fly Alaska, a "guided, self-fly" tour company, according to its website.
The AP reports that Henman was scheduled to lead a group of planes on a trip but went out early to check weather conditions. After the twin-engine Beechcraft Baron didn't return, it was spotted burning around noon, Friday off the Parks Highway.
