Drunk Driver In Pioneer Park And Multiple Car Clouts: Police Log
Several community members helped Puyallup officers recently when they detained a drunk driver who drove into Pioneer Park.

PUYALLUP, WA β Unlocked cars are still getting broken into, despite weekly warnings from Puyallup police to make sure unattended vehicles are secure. Also, another man recently learned the ol' "No Contact Means No Contact" rule when he got arrested for harassing his estranged wife.

Theft from Vehicle, Fraud

Sometime overnight someone broke into the victimβs unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet. The suspect then went into the backyard and stole the victimβs black bicycle. The victimβs credit cards were used at Safeway on East Main.
Attempted Residential Burglary
500-block of Fourth Avenue Southwest
Sometime during the day Thursday, someone tried unsuccessfully to break into a residence in this area. Nothing was stolen.

Vehicle Prowl
1715 E. Main Ave.
An iWatch and several other items were stolen from the victim's burgled Ford Edge.
Runaway
1402 E. Main Ave. - DSHS
A Social Worker reported a 17-year-old male ran away after being in their care for the day. He is a regular runaway.

2506 S. Meridian
Two checkbooks and a USB drive containing the victim's personal information was stolen sometime overnight from the victim's unlocked car.
DUI Collision β Alcohol
330 S. Meridian - Pioneer Park
While attending training, officers were interrupted by the sounds of a destructive motor vehicle accident within Pioneer Park. Officers quickly snapped into action and began running to the accident, directly in front of City Hall.
The truck collided with two unattended, parked vehicles before careening into Pioneer Park while individuals where still enjoying a nice evening. The driver was identified, refused SFSTs and was ultimately arrested for DUI. He provided breath samples of 0.128 and 0.131.
Fantastic teamwork by all who jumped into action and insured there were no injured citizens within the park, quickly detaining the intoxicated driver who was initially attempting to leave the scene with his damaged vehicle.
Warrant Arrest
4022 S. Meridian - Burger King
A man was arrested on trespassing charges after Burger King employees called police because they saw the man allegedly using some unknown narcotic on foil. Officers were unable to locate any narcotics, but they arrested the man anyway based on a warrant.
Vehicle Prowl x 2 and attempted Credit card use
3005 Fifth St. S.E. - Bradley Lake Park
Two vehicles were burgled in the early evening of May 22. Stolen were purses containing wallets and credit cards.
Runaway / Recovery
701 43rd Ave. S.E. - Glenbrooke Apartments
A 13-year-old ran away from home and was later recovered without incident. He was both entered and removed as a missing person.

The victimβs vehicle was prowled, and a bag of GAP clothing was stolen.
Harassment
3500 S. Meridian - South Hill Mall
Mall security contacted two men who were being disorderly and were also suspected of shoplifting. After security staff asked the men to leave, one of the shoplifting suspects threatened the security guard.
DV Order Violation
2716 S. Meridian - Southridge Apartments
Puyallup police worked with officers from Renton to arrest a man who apparently violated a No Contact order by calling his estranged wife and sending her messages on Facebook.
