Here's your guide to the fourth of July holiday on Thursday in Puyallup.

The Fourth of July is Thursday and observed as a federal holiday. Some area offices and agencies are also closed on Friday, July 5. Here's what you need to know to get around during the week.

Puyallup City HallΒ will be closed Thursday and will reopen Friday.

Puyallup School DistrictΒ is on summer vacation. PSD administrative and support buildings will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5. The Education Service Center and business office in downtown Puyallup are among the buildings closed for the Fourth of July holiday. Administrative and support buildings reopen on Monday, July 8.

Pierce County government:Β Closed Thursday.

U.S. Postal Service:Β Closed Thursday.

Pierce County Library SystemΒ is closed Thursday.

Pierce Transit:Β Pierce Transit bus and SHUTTLE services will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thursday.Β Pierce Transit administrative offices, Bus Shop locations and phone information services will be closed.

Sound Transit: Express Bus, Tacoma Link and Central Link are on a Sunday schedule on Thursday. There is no Sounder Train service Thursday.Β 

State of Washington:Β Closed Thursday.

Washington State Ferries: A holiday schedule is in effect on Thursday for the Point Defiance/Tahlequah, Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth, and Seattle/Bainbridge Island routes. The state advises travelers toΒ plan for heavy traffic around the holiday.

Federal government:Β Closed Thursday.

Banks:Β Many, if not most, will be closed Thursday. Check your local branch.

Garbage and Recycling:Β Murreys DisposalΒ will operate on a normal schedule.
