Pipe Bomb Found Near Burned Vehicle, Tacoma Police Investigating
Tacoma Police say they believe the vehicle was intentionally set on fire.

TACOMA, WA β The Tacoma Police Department is investigating after discovering a pipe bomb near a flaming vehicle Thursday.
According to an update from the department, Tacoma Firefighters were called to reports of a burning vehicle in the 1900 block of E. D Street just before 5 p.m.
Once there, firefighters quickly found what appeared to be a pipe bomb lying near the burning car. Tacoma Police was then called in to help clear the scene and investigate.

It does not appear that the bomb was responsible for the fire: The Tacoma Police Department's Explosive Ordinance Detail had to be called in to render the explosive inert.
The car fire has since been ruled an arson. No injuries have been reported, though the police department says its investigation is ongoing.
