WALLER, WA β€” Two men are in the hospital after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the Waller area.

The investigation started at 3 p.m., when South Sound 911 dispatchers received a call from a witness who heard gunshots near 5100 Pioneer Way E.

The witness also reported seeing an injured man lying on the ground, but by the time deputies arrived, the scene was abandoned. Deputies quickly determined a shooting had taken place there, and began to search the area.

They didn't have to search long: at around 4 p.m. a woman called 911 to report that her 33-year-old husband had been shot and had driven to their home. Deputies used a tourniquet to staunch his bleeding, and he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Just before 5, while still clearing the initial scene, deputies received another call from a 40-year-old man who also reported that he had been shot in the same incident. The 40-year-old man had serious injuries, and was also rushed to the hospital.

Both victims were interviewed at the hospital, though investigators say they still have not determined a motive for the shooting, and if there are any outstanding suspects.
