2 Renton Teens Arrested, Accused In Overnight Crime Spree

Two teens were suspects in a series of robberies and carjackings in Renton before crashing a stolen vehicle into a barn, police said.

RENTON, WA — Two teens were booked into jail Thursday morning who police suspect in a robbery, armed carjacking and home invasion in Renton overnight. According to detectives, the two juveniles robbed a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint on the 11100 block of Petrovitsky Road around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and demanded their vehicle.

When the teens were unable to operate the vehicle's manual transmission, police said the pair stole another vehicle at gunpoint in the same parking lot. About 20 minutes later, as officers were investigating the first incident, police said another call came in reporting a home invasion and robbery at a nearby apartment, with suspect descriptions matching the earlier carjacking.

The victims told police that the teens came into their apartment through an open window and stole several items from the home while pointing a gun at another juvenile in the house. Officers spotted the stolen vehicle speeding westbound on Petrovitsky but did not begin a pursuit. Within a few minutes, officers found the vehicle crashed into a storage barn on Southeast Carr Road, where part of the structure had collapsed onto the car.
