7-Eleven Day Means Free Slurpees for All
The convenience store celebrates its birthday/anniversary every year by giving away its signature 7.11-ounce frozen drinks for free.

Â
It seems hard to believe, but the first 7-Eleven store opened in 1927, meaning the convenience store chain will celebrate its 85th anniversary this year.
And that means 7-Eleven Day is almost here — free Slurpees for everyone!

The celebration is especially noteworthy because it also marks the 45th anniversary of the creation of the Slurpee itself.
“This year we expect to give away 7 million Slurpee drinks, more than ever before, beating last year’s offer by 2 million," said Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven president and CEO, in a media release on the company's website.
The company has also created downloadable birthday attire – tiny bowties, hair bows and two sizes of party hats — for folks who want to dress up and go all-out for the occasion. The "printable party attire" can be found at http://www.7-Eleven.com or www.slurpee.com/Rewards.
