Citizens in the Lake Dolloff neighborhood of Southeastern King County, have teamed up with PAWS (People Helping Animals) and the King County Sheriff’s Office to spruce up the Lake Dolloff Substation.
The substation, which was acquired by the King County Sheriff’s Office in 1994, has been in desperate need of a cosmetic overhaul. Citizens in the area approached the Sheriff’s Office and volunteered to “spruce” up the station. Work needed on the building included residing, new skirting, painting, staining and general cleanup. This same citizen group was responsible for the initial station being placed there in 1994 to support the community policing efforts of this area.
“The volunteers have been working on the repairs over the last few weeks and with luck will complete the final touchups on Thursday afternoon,” said Captain Greg Thomas of the King County Sheriff’s Office. “ the citizens of this area have been so supportive of the Sheriff’s Office that they wanted to show their support by having the local ‘Cop Shop’ looking as good as possible”, said Captain Thomas. “We are very fortunate to have such wonderful people on our side who care about their community”.
