Motorcyclist critically injured in Renton 'road rage' crash; suspect arrested (king5.com) — A Renton motorcyclist remains in serious condition after an alleged road-rage crash on Petrovitsky Road, where police say a Jeep pickup intentionally struck his bike. The rider, already undergoing cancer treatment, is hospitalized in Seattle while the driver faces multiple charges. Friends have launched support efforts as the family navigates both recovery and the legal process. 
2. Renton City Council announces committee members (rentonreporter.com) — Renton City Council has set its 2026 committee lineups and meeting times, covering everything from parks and utilities to public safety and transportation. Most committees will meet Mondays at City Hall’s seventh-floor conference room, with video options available. Residents can check the City of Renton meeting portal each Friday for confirmed times and agendas.
3. Renton, WA police seek public's help in an apparent road rage crash (fox13seattle.com) — Renton police are asking residents for dashcam footage or information about a Dec. 13 crash between a car and motorcycle on Southeast Carr Road that investigators believe followed a road rage confrontation. If you were driving in that area around 4:45 p.m., officers want to hear from you. Tips can be sent directly to Detective Lane by email as the investigation continues.
4. Nouhou and Georgi Minoungou Depart for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (soundersfc.com) — Two Seattle Sounders players are heading out from Renton for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, meaning the club will be without defender Nouhou and forward Georgi Minoungou for several weeks. 5. WA Transportation Commission approves Martin Luther King Jr. Way extension following Sen. Kauffman memorial (thefactsnewspaper.com) — Drivers in Renton will soon see Martin Luther King Jr. Way extended along the full length of SR 515, carrying the designation from south Seattle through the city. State transportation commissioners approved the change after a formal request from lawmakers and community advocates, and new signs will be installed to reflect the corridor’s shared history and values.
