Hazen Graduate Mandy Schendel Will Represent Washington State In Miss America Pageant

Mandy Schendel, 2008 graduate, has been named Miss Washington 2012 and will represent the state at the Miss America pageant in Paradise, Nev. in January. Schendel, 22, is an author, national speaker and former Disney princess who at age 11, started her own nonprofit organization, the Difference Maker Organization, to help teach kids and teens how to become leaders through volunteer service projects.
