Burien Teen Accused In 2 Renton Killings: Police
Renton police arrested a 14-year-old who investigators say is linked to two homicides, including one in October and another on Jan. 12.
RENTON, WA — A Renton SWAT team on Thursday arrested a Burien teen who detectives believe killed two men in separate shootings, the department announced Friday morning.
In the most recent shooting, police found a man with multiple gunshot wounds on a sidewalk outside a business on Benson Road South early Wednesday evening. Police said the victim, a 54-year-old man, died at the scene, and witnesses said the shooter was a passenger in an SUV that fled the scene.
Detectives said they were able to identify a shooting suspect quickly, and members of Renton's special operations team joined the Valley SWAT team to serve a search warrant at a nearby apartment complex on Thursday evening. In a news release, police said the same teen is also the lone suspect in an October homicide that left a young man dead after an argument in a Safeway parking lot.

"Renton Police are not seeking any other suspects in either murder," the department wrote. "We still do not know the motive for this murder and will continue to work to understand what led to this senseless crime."
The teen was booked into a juvenile detention facility and is expected to face charges in both homicides, police said.
