The Emergency Feeding Program of Seattle & King County has been packing and distributing 15 different varieties of non-perishable, nutritionally balanced emergency grocery bags for over 35 years. The program which partners with over 130 partner social service agencies, schools, food banks and faith community pantries located throughout King County has recently moved its headquarters to Renton. They are inviting both their new neighbors and long-time supporters to join them for a open house and ribbon cutting celebration this Saturday, September 8th at noon. Their new address is 575 Rainier Avenue South in Renton.Â
Located directly across from the Renton Municipal Airport, the new building – a former grocery store – is perfect for them. Spacious, with an abundance of natural light, the new warehouse will ideally serve both staff and the hundreds of volunteers who pack some 2,000 emergency grocery bags each month. Come be part of this new beginning for a program that has served struggling local households for so long.
For more information about either the program or Saturday’s open house, please contact EFP at 206-329-0300 or info@emergencyfeeding.org.Â
