Flash Mob Stikes At Renton River Days

Dancers from Spotlight Dance Center took River Days' attendees by surprise with a flash mob dance.

Dozens of dancers — young and old, professional and amatuer — took Renton River Days by storm with a suprise flash mob Saturday afternoon.

Organized by Amanda Herman, owner of in Renton, the flash mob number was set to the tune of the 1980s classic "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall & Oats, and was a first for Renton River Days.

Many of the dancers first appeared in the Renton River Days parade, twirling and leaping down South Third Street in front of thousands of parade-goers.

While the crowds moved toward Liberty Park, the dancers went the opposite direction, back to the Spotlight Dance Center on Tobin Street, where they did one last flash mob rehersal before their 2 p.m performance in Liberty Park in front of the events stage.

While there were several rehearsals at the studio, some participants simply practiced at home with friends or with the help of a YouTube video (you can see it by clicking the video link, above).
