Get Out For Irish Fare, Music, Education March 16-18

Splurge on Saturday for St. Paddy's, and run it off with your new friends Sunday morning. Then cap the weekend off with the Renton City Concert Band's spring concert.

  • Why Go: Join in on the community celebration of all things Irish, enjoy live music, Irish food & drink, and whatever you do, don’t forget to wear green! If the weather is nice, make a day of it by taking a walking tour of downtown Renton and visit several of the festivities.

  • Where/When: 11 a.m. Sat, March 17, at the Renton History Museum.
  • Why Go: The Renton History Museum offers free tours at 11 a.m. on the third Saturday of every month. Learn a little bit about Renton's past at this free tour of the Renton History Museum. You'll get a firsthand look at some of the 90,000 photos, books, and collections of coal mining and fire-fighting artifacts that help document Renton's history. The tour is appropriate for elementary students through adults.
  • Cost: Free. No reservations necessary, unless there are more then five people in your group.


  • Where/When: 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center.
  • Why Go: Come and enjoy some music while supporting Renton-area musicians this Sunday at the IKEA Performing Arts Center. Check out this YouTube clip of a performance by the RCCB to see if this concert is for you.
  • Cost: $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students.
  • Where/When: Meet at The Landing, 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 18 in front of The Balanced Athlete, ready to run!
  • Why Go: Run off all that good ol' Irish food and drink, and make new running-buddy friends. Get there early, or stay late and check out all the running goodies available for purchase, including a clown-like shoe called the Hoka.
