• Sounders FC signs free agent defender Ryan Sailor (soundersfc.com) — From their Renton headquarters, the Sounders have signed free agent defender Ryan Sailor, a former University of Washington standout, to bolster the back line through 2026. The club also added young goalkeeper Max Anchor on a multi-year deal. Both moves aim to deepen Seattle’s roster as they prepare for upcoming MLS seasons.
   

• State Transportation Commission Renames Benson Highway To Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (seattlemedium.com) — A major stretch of Benson Road running through Renton, Kent, and unincorporated King County is being redesignated as Martin Luther King Jr. Way after a successful community campaign. The change, backed by state officials, will not require Renton businesses or residents to update mailing addresses and is expected to be marked with new signage around Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January.
