UPDATE: Renton Man Pleads Not Guilty To Vehicular Assault

Garrett Bakken was reportedly driving under the influence when he hit Rosalind "Roz" Hall as she walked or jogged along Lake Washington Boulevard on July 7.

UPDATE - Monday August 6 1:30 p.m.

Garrett Bakken of Renton pled not guilty Monday to Vehicular Assault during his arraignment at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.

Bakken was allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol when he hit Rosalind "Roz" Hill who was walking on a pedestrian/bicycle pathway on Lake Washington Boulevard in Renton on July 7.

A case setting hearing is scheduled for September 5 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center.

From the King County Prosecutor's website:

State v. Garrett Bakken: Arraignment is set for August 6 for Garrett Bakken, who was in Renton on July 7. Bakken, 27, is charged with Vehicular Assault. Arraignment is at 9 a.m. at the Maleng Regional Justice Center. 

Bakken was originally scheduled to appear on appear in court on August 26; however, his arriagnment was rescheduled to August 6. Patch contacted the King County Prosectuting Attorney's Press Secretary, Dan Donohoe, about Bakken's delayed court appearance.

"It appears that Bakken’s defense attorney requested a later arraignment date," Donohoe said, but added that he did not have any specific details about the request.

Patch will post an update on Monday about the outcome of the arraignment.
