Safety Issues, Clearing and Disposing Of Storm Debris In & Around Renton
Have storm debris to clear? Here's how to get rid of it:

City crews are traveling through the city removing tree limbs, woody debris and sand from the streets as quickly as possible. Residents are reminded not to move tree limbs and debris from their property to the sidewalk. This causes serious pedestrian safety issues. If you do notice debris on the sidewalk, please take care as you pass through these areas. You may also call 425-430-7400 if you have any concerns or other issues regarding storm debris.
Several local resources are now available following last week's storm.
Debris pick-up:
Residents with trees or branches to dispose of can place them in their Yard and Food Waste carts. They must be trimmed to less than 4 feet in length and not exceed 4 inches in diameter. If you have more than your cart will hold, place them in cardboard boxes, paper or compostable bags, or tie them in bundles less than 3 ½ feet in any dimension as long as the bundle doesn't exceed 60 pounds.
There is no limit to the number of bundles that will be collected. Alternatively, excess tree branches and limbs can be saved for the next scheduled collection day.
Debris drop-off:
Debris also can be disposed of at the following locations (fees may apply):
- Â Cedar Grove Composting in Maple Valley, 425-432-2395
- Â Rainier Wood Recyclers in Covington, 425-222-0008
