Woman Accused In Deadly Crash Arrested In Renton
Renton detectives have arrested a woman who investigators believe hit and killed a pedestrian last month, then fled the area.
RENTON, WA — Renton detectives arrested a woman Tuesday morning accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian in a crosswalk in late December and leaving the scene.
Krista Brown, 59, died on Dec. 20 after she was hit by the driver of a white Ford Focus while crossing Northeast Sunset Boulevard, shortly after getting off a King County Metro bus, according to police. Detectives were able to identify the vehicle involved early in the investigation and interviewed its owner.
In a news release, police said investigators confirmed that the owner of the vehicle was driving the car at the time of the crash and returned to arrest the 47-year-old Renton woman on Tuesday morning. She was booked into jail on suspicion of a hit-and-run causing injury or death.
