Here are the top three stories in Spokane today:

  1. Businesses near the Appleway Trail will be allowed to add patios and other amenities to draw more visitors to the 5.8-mile trail. The city council approved the revised interlocal agreement with Spokane County in the hopes of spurring economic development. The trail is owned by the county but will be maintained by the city. (KHQ Right Now)
  2. A reward is being offered for 30-year old Joshua W. Seth who is wanted for shooting a woman through a door at the Red Top Motel last week. The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Seth is believed to be armed and dangerous.
  3. The City of Spokane Parks and Recreation has invited the community to weigh in on what a future dog park in Riverfront Park could look like through an online survey. The multiple-choice and open question survey asks for feedback on design features and personal use plans for the park. The public has until Friday, Apr. 15 to submit their responses.

Where should you invest as a Spokane resident with a $149,000 nest egg? Thanks to a change in the legal code, there’s a new investment Spokane residents need to know about. In fact, Bloomberg asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now and many of them chose it.

This may surprise you, but it’s fine art.

Growing your nest egg with art isn’t new. Wealthy families like the Rockefellers have done it for centuries.

Here’s why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)

Translation: Art could be one of the best investments for uncertain times.

Luckily for you, we found Masterworks. This revolutionary platform lets you invest in art by Warhol, Monet, Picasso without spending millions.

The best part? Anyone from your area can skip their waitlist*.
