• Spokane County marks 25 years of protecting vulnerable individuals (spokanepublicradio.org) — Spokane County’s Guardianship Monitoring Program is marking 25 years of overseeing the finances and welfare of about 2,200 vulnerable Spokane residents who can’t make major decisions on their own. With just two staff members and five core volunteers, the program relies heavily on trained community volunteers and EWU accounting students to audit conservators’ annual reports and help protect incapacitated people from financial exploitation.
