• New one-day music festival featuring 20 acts comes to downtown Spokane in 2026 (spokesman.com) — Downtown Spokane is getting a brand-new one-day music festival next July, bringing 20 acts to ONE Spokane Stadium, the Podium, and nearby areas. Blessing in Disguise aims to draw up to 20,000 people, boost the local economy by up to $5 million, and support the Gleason Foundation. Early-bird tickets go on sale Friday for $75 plus fees.
   

• CHAS Health to honor 217 homeless individuals at Spokane memorials (khq.com) — CHAS Health is inviting the public to two outdoor memorials honoring 217 people who died while experiencing homelessness, including a Spokane ceremony at the Denny Murphy Clinic on Dec. 22. Organizers hope to spotlight the challenges facing unhoused neighbors in Spokane, with speakers, a warm lunch, and a powerful fence display listing each person remembered.
   

• Spokane swiftwater rescue teams on west side to receive state assistance (khq.com) — Spokane Fire Department and Spokane Valley Fire’s swiftwater rescue teams are deployed to Western Washington’s historic flooding, and the state is now sending even more resources to support them. Crews from Spokane are rescuing stranded residents, assisting National Guard helicopters, and remaining on standby as more storms threaten flooded communities.
