Gonzaga’s Zag Dining closes semester with food drive, celebration

As the academic year wraps up, Gonzaga University students are finding a few extra reasons to gather, give back, and enjoy campus life

As the academic year wraps up, Gonzaga University students are finding a few extra reasons to gather, give back, and enjoy campus life, thanks to a series of events organized by Zag Dining.

The Good Vibe Food Drive, running through May 9, encourages students to donate unopened, unexpired food as they move out for the summer. Donations can be placed in Move for Hunger paper bags at a collection site outside the COG dining hall. All contributions will go to support families in the Spokane area.

On Monday, May 5, the university hosted a Campus Community Celebration Lunch at Rosauer and Foley fields. The outdoor gathering invited students, faculty and staff to share a meal and show school spirit by wearing Gonzaga gear.

Also concluding this week is Win it Wednesday, a student giveaway series that has run throughout the semester. The final contest, themed “Goodbye Gonzaga,” featured prizes tied to campus life and the end-of-year sendoff.

With finals approaching, Zag Dining is helping students mark the close of the semester through events that highlight community, gratitude and school pride.
