Here are the top three stories today in Spokane:
- A partnership between Spokane Valley's senior citizens and senior dogs will be sure to warm your heart. The "Hearts and Paws" program, a partnership between SpokAnimal and Sullivan Park Care Center, connects residents at Sullivan Park with older dogs at the animal shelter. Officials say the partnership has been successful, with the nursing home fostering its fourth dog in two months. (KXLY Spokane)
- For the first time in two years, the South Perry Street Fair will be returning to Spokane this summer. Each year, the street fair sets up vendor booths, local food trucks, and live music along the main road of the South Perry neighborhood. Currently, there are about 40 open spots for vendors, as well as plenty of volunteer opportunities. Anyone interested in participating in this year's festivities can click here to learn more. (KXLY Spokane)
- The Spokane Regional Indoor Small Arms Range recently celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony. The facility is being developed thanks to a partnership between the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, the Spokane County Board of Commissioners, and Fairchild Air Force Base. According to a press release, the goal of the partnership is to maximize the use of limited resources and meet a training need for both Spokane County and Air Force employees. (Press Release Desk)
