Here are the top three stories today in Spokane:

  1. One thousand residential living units in the Valley Urban Growth Area are proposed or under development at the south end of Spokane Valley, an area locally known as So Val. Six developments are slated, two of which are residential units offering approximately 650 homes being developed by Black Realty Inc. An open-space area is also being planned for the area. (Spokane Journal of Business)
  2. Spokane Police announced the second arrest of a suspect involved in the catalytic converter thefts. 32-year-old Daniel Girton was arrested for possible involvement, while 30-year-old Kennard Supak was arrested for his alleged involvement last Friday. Officers stated that the two men stole a catalytic converter from a parked car in North Spokane. (KXLY Spokane)
  3. Seattle ranked ninth in the 50 best "weed cities" in the country, while Spokane didn't even make the list. Real estate website realestatewitch.com. conducted the study that was based on criteria like average price per ounce, the number of dispensaries, and hiking trails. Spokane ranks the third-cheapest among the 50 cities for high-quality cannabis at a price of $226.74 per ounce. (Inlander)
