Sunday morning at 6:31 AM, 911 received a report from a homeowner in the 1600 block of East Wellesley Avenue of a fire in the wall of their home. Five occupants were able to safely evacuate from the home prior to the Spokane Fire Department's arrival.

Firefighters arrived within three minutes and observed smoke emanating from the home's eaves. Once assuring the safety of the occupants, firefighters were able to locate and make access to a working fire in the home's walls and attic dormer. The fire was successfully confined to the area already burned and the occupants property was protected from damage.

The cause of the fire is has been determined to be electrical. There were no injuries and the structure remains uninhabitable until repairs are made.
