Here are the top three stories in Spokane today:
- The City of Spokane credited three Eastern Washington legislators for securing millions in state funding for local priorities. Officials posted a note on the city's website thanking Sen. Andy Billig, as well as Reps. Timm Ormsby and Marcus Riccelli. Ormsby was credited for advocating for $2.4 million to help Spokane establish and pilot a program to utilize social justice programs to reduce incarceration rates. (KHQ Right Now)
- The Spokane Valley City Council is drafting a new ordinance that will outline the city's authority to create no-parking zones and parking prohibitions. Parking problems have grown with the city's population, resulting in the new ordinance. Part of the new code will broaden the city's authority to tow vehicles for a host of reasons. (The Spokesman Review)
- A Spokane Valley woman and her boyfriend interrupted two men breaking into her garage at the McDonald's Place apartment complex. Brittney Goodman chased the two men with a stun gun, but they got away. There have been a series of break-ins at the complex recently. (KHQ Right Now)
