United Flight Hits Bird Leaving Spokane, Diverts To SeaTac

United Airlines flight 812 struck a bird as it flew out of Spokane early Friday morning. It landed at SeaTac just after 7 a.m.

SPOKANE, WA - A flight from Spokane to Denver was diverted to SeaTac Friday morning after the plane struck a bird shortly after takeoff.

According to United Airlines, flight 812 left Spokane just after 5:30 a.m. Jan. 11. As it was climbing, the plane struck a bird. Out of an abundance of caution, United diverted the plane to SeaTac, where it landed safely just after 7 a.m.

No one was hurt in the incident.

After landing, the plane was checked out and cleared to continue its journey to Denver.
