Madison woman held at knifepoint by man she met online (nbc15.com) — Police say a woman escaped after being threatened with a knife and forced to drive around Madison, leading to the arrest of a 48-year-old suspect on multiple serious charges. The incident happened late Dec. 19 near Milwaukee Street, and Madison police are asking anyone who may have seen something to contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers with anonymous tips.
   

2. WEDC recognized nationally for excellence in financial transparency (einpresswire.com) — Madison-based Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has been nationally honored again for top-tier financial transparency and budgeting, earning major awards from the Government Finance Officers Association. 3. Madison woman arrested for 4th OWI after hit-and-run (nbc15.com) — Police arrested a Madison woman Sunday evening after a reported hit-and-run crash on the city’s east side, following tips about a car swerving near N. Thompson and Swanton Roads. Officers later found the damaged vehicle on Stein Avenue and arrested the 44-year-old driver on suspicion of fourth-offense OWI and other charges.
   

4. Rock Co. man accused of killing child, hiding corpse found competent to stand trial (nbc15.com) — A serious Rock County homicide case tied to Madison courts is moving forward after a judge found the 22-year-old defendant competent to stand trial. He’s accused of killing his 8-year-old adopted sister and hiding her body, and now faces a jury trial scheduled for July 20, 2026. The ruling follows two earlier competency hearings that had delayed proceedings.
   

5. Madison musicians share heart health message after surviving cardiac events at same venue (channel3000.com) — Two Madison musicians who survived sudden cardiac arrest on the same Gamma Ray Bar stage are now pushing for better CPR training and AED access at local venues. Their experiences are galvanizing Madison’s music community to improve emergency preparedness and encourage residents to recognize warning signs and take heart health seriously at shows and other public gatherings.
