5 Shot; 2 Die In Crash On Way To Hospital: Police

A woman who was one of five people shot at a house party died after she and her driver hit a tree on the way to a hospital, police said.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A woman who was wounded in a quintuple shooting early Sunday died along with a man driving her to a hospital after their car hit a tree, police said.

Milwaukee police said they were notified just after 3:30 a.m. that gunshots had been fired during a house party in the 4500 block of North 28th Street.

Police said a 29-year-old man from Milwaukee suffered serious injuries; he walked into a local hospital and was in critical condition as of Sunday night. Police also said a 33-year-old man from Milwaukee suffered serious injuries and was in stable condition at a local hospital.

A 22-year-old and a 33-year-old woman from Milwaukee suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, police said, and both were treated at a local hospital and released.

Milwaukee police said a 34-year-old woman from Milwaukee sustained gunshot wounds. She was being transported to a local hospital when the vehicle she was in crashed into a tree in the 3700 block of North Sherman Boulevard. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 29-year-old man from Milwaukee, also died, police said.

Police have yet to announce any arrests in connection with the shooting.
