JEFFERSON COUNTY, WI — Authorities identified the two people who were shot and killed in a double homicide and arson case in Jefferson County.

On Tuesday evening, deputies were dispatched to a home in Sumner for a possible burglary. Once they arrived, deputies saw two people lying in the driveway, deceased.

Jefferson County Sheriff's officials say were investigating the case when they were shot at from inside the house. Deputies say they took cover and exchanged gunfire.

It wasn't too much later before deputies reported seeing a column of black smoke rise from the house. As SWAT teams arrived, the house became engulfed in flames, authorities said. The fire spread, and by morning, it was apparent that the house was a "total loss," authorities said.

On Friday, authorities identified the two people found dead on the driveway: Nedra J. Lemke, 57 and James H. Lemke, 59. The Jefferson County Medical Examiner said both Nedra and James suffered multiple gunshot wounds, resulting in their death.

The shooter has yet to be found.

Sheriff's officials in Jefferson County say the incident was targeted and not a random act, and are asking the public's help to track down Kevin P. Anderson, a 61-year-old Fort Atkinson man. Authorities said Nedra was Anderson's sister and James was his brother-in-law.

According to an ABC 27 report, the home was owned by a 90-year-old man who died less than two weeks ago. The property was the subject of a court case over how it was to be divided among surviving family members.

Authorities haven't said publicly what Anderson's role in the shooting and arson case was.

Sheriff's officials say Anderson stands 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has blue eyes and balding brown hair.

"If you see Anderson, do not approach. Instead, please immediately contact Law Enforcement," Sheriff's officials said.
