Below-Zero Wind Chill Could Last Into The Week In Milwaukee Area: NWS

The National Weather Service forecast the cold to last into the week for the Milwaukee area.

WISCONSIN — Much of Wisconsin, including the Milwaukee area, can expect arctic air and windchills to last into the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Much of the Milwaukee area woke up to a chilly Monday morning. Wind chills around 20-25 below zero could be expected through Monday night with the below-zero values lasting into Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the NWS. By late Thursday, another arctic airmass is expected to keep very cold wind chills going into Friday morning, the NWS wrote.

The weather service wrote in a tweet that the coldest period will be Monday night into Tuesday. With the weather, officials encouraged people to dress warm whenever outside.

Monday: Sunny with a high around 11 and wind chill value as low as -10. Partly cloudy night with a low around -9 and wind chill value as low as -20.

Tuesday: Sunny and a high around 11 with wind chill value as low as -20. Mostly clear night with a low around 5.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high around 24 and wind up to 15 mph. A low around 13 in the evening.

Thursday: Sunny with a high around 25 but blustery with wind gusts up to 25 mph. Mostly clear night, with a low around -1 and continued winds.

Friday: A high around 14 and sunny with a low around 6 in the night.
