City Cancels Halloween Plans, Discourages Any Trick-or-Treating
The designated trick-or-treat window in Bay View from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 31st has been canceled.
Milwaukee walked back plans to celebrate Halloween this year.
In a statement released Tuesday, Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic wrote this year's events must be reimagined.
Families from across the area would typically come to Bay View to walk the streets and enjoy the festive decorations and Halloween spirit cultivated by neighbors. But Dimitrijevic cites concerns with the pandemic as the reason the city is walking back initial plans.

So together with the Bay View Neighborhood Association, the designated trick-or-treat window in Bay View from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 31st has been cancelled. Traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating is being discouraged.

"While we know this is disappointing for many, the health and safety of our community must
remain the top priority especially as our state has seen a large spike in new cases," Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic wrote in the statement. "I want to thank residents for their flexibility and understanding this year as we work to make sure Bay View, and all of Milwaukee, remain safe and healthy so we can emerge from this pandemic stronger than when we entered it."
Residents are encouraged to participate in the new-look Pumpkin Pavilion this year to
show Halloween spirit instead.
